All You Should Know About Invisalign Treatment

If you are worried about the look your crooked tooth is giving to your face, don’t delay the visit to the dentist. The modern dental care has come a long way, and there are plenty of methods for improving dental alignment and give you the perfect set of teeth.

Invisalign treatment is one such modern method where your teeth can get proper alignment of teeth. If your teeth need straightening up this method is perhaps the best. Many people make the mistake of choosing veneers instead of this Invisalign. Veneers will not help in straightening the teeth. Veneers can improve the look of chipped teeth. Invisalign or braces, you ask? Read on to know more.

How Invisalign will Help

Using a clear tray after taking the impression of your teeth will be put in your mouth to straighten any crooked or twisted teeth you have. Where braces have metallic fixtures, the Invisalign trays have enamel –colored attachments. These fix these aligners on the teeth to bring in structural ease to the teeth. They look like clear braces, and the periodontist will be recommending you to wear them for a maximum of 22 hours a day. After that, you will have to remove it and place it in a glass of water and some denture-cleaning tablet.

Invisalign will keep the aligners smelling fresh all day. You will need to take care of it, but do not try to brush wearing it. To clean these aligners, you can rinse it with mild soap and water and wipe it dry too. After a certain period of wearing these aligners, the dentist might ask you to go for another set of diagnosis. This will show the current alignment of the teeth. After this, they will recommend you to go for a new set of trays. There are dentists, who advise people to go for the Invisalign for a year overall for visible results.

How is it Different from Braces?

The Invisalign trays or aligners are clear, and hence they protect the teeth from damage or decay.  In the case of braces, there are metal fixtures where food might get stuck. It is such a pain to remove them from the gaps too. However, in the case of Invisalign, this is not a problem at all. Make sure to consult the specialists at a dental clinic like NoHo for more accurate suggestions and treatment.
