Whitening

Over time teeth may become stained from coffee, tea, wine, smoking, medication, or disease. Teeth can also darken with age as the enamel becomes more porous. Dental bleaching, also referred to as “teeth whitening”, can erase those stains and create a brighter smile. Teeth whitening can be done at your convenience and in the privacy of your own home. Or, if you prefer a professional’s touch, whitening can be done in the dental office.

At-home Whitening Procedure: An impression of your teeth is made and used to create a mouth guard tray. Using the mouth guard, a prescription strength bleaching agent is applied to the teeth. The tray is worn for a brief amount of time each day for several weeks, depending on your desired shade. At-home whitening may require 2 to 4 office visits.

Laser Teeth Whitening Procedure: The dentist will give your teeth a minor cleaning to remove plaque along the gumline. Next, a bleaching agent is applied to the teeth. A special light or laser activates the gel, whitening your teeth. This treatment requires 1 office visit.
